The material

Never Rots, Never Splinters, Never Needs Sealing

Zero water uptake
Never rots
Solid HDPE absorbs nothing, so there is no swelling, no decay and no soft ends after a wet spring.
No grain, no fibre
Never splinters
Bare feet, bare hands and livestock are all fine with it, in year one and in year twenty.
Untreated polymer
Nothing leaches
No preservatives in the board, so it sits safely against soil, feed, garden beds and open water.
Colour runs through
Never needs sealing
No sanding, staining or annual refinish. Wash it when it's dirty and that's the whole schedule.

Decking Packages for Builders

Most of what leaves our yard becomes a deck. It's why we quote packages rather than hand over boards — you get the material list, the layout and the number.

See packages

Photo — feature · 1100×825The best deck you've builtLow along the boards so the run and joint spacing read clearly. Furniture in shot, people optional. The single most important photo on the site — if only one gets shot properly, make it this one.

What a decking package includes

  • Deck boards — counted for your dimensions, in your colour
  • Fasteners — the right screws and the right quantity
  • Cut layout — drawn so every joint lands on a joist
  • Install sheet — gapping, spacing and fastening for our board
  • A firm price — usually back with you the next business day

A sketch, a plan or measurements on the back of an invoice. Whatever you have.

02

We do the takeoff

Board count, fasteners and a cut layout worked out so the joints land on joists — not mid-span.

Priced and ready for pickup in Lacombe or Georgina. Ask about delivery to your site.

Video 1 — priority · 60–90 sec "How a package works" — Travis at the bench Travis takes a builder's scribbled sketch, marks up the board layout, reads back the material list. One take, phone-shot is fine. Ends on: "send me the dimensions, I'll have it priced tomorrow." Shoot this first. File: /assets/video/how-a-package-works.mp4

Eco Column — Recycled Plastic Post-Frame Columns

A post-frame building is only as good as the point where the post meets the ground. That's where the weather, the soil and the moisture all meet.

About Eco Column

Alberta Emerald Awards · 2026

Judge's Choice Award recipient. Eco Column took the Judge's Choice at the 35th Annual Emerald Awards in Calgary, awarded jointly to Grey is Green and Premium Built Structures for turning hard-to-recycle plastic into post-frame foundations. Read the citation.

Built with Premium Built Structures

Engineered for the part you bury

Eco Column is a purpose-built structural column made from Alberta recycled plastic, developed with our sister company Premium Built Structures for their post-frame shops, barns and riding arenas. It goes in the ground and stays there.

Our material

What Our Plastic Lumber Is Made From

Paint pails in, lumber out. Ours comes from one of the harder streams to recycle — the pails collected through Alberta's regulated paint and oil programs, cleaned and extruded into solid board.

Our material

Extruded

Melted and formed into solid dimensional boards. No wood fibre, no chemical treatment.

Our impact

Plastic Waste Diverted From Canadian Landfill

Every board starts as something someone threw away. Canadians bin roughly three million tonnes of plastic a year and recycle under a tenth of it — and pails are among the harder pieces to do anything with.

Need this for a report?

We issue a diversion statement for any project, showing the weight kept out of landfill by your order. Councils put them in committee reports; builders put them on site boards.

Photo · 900×1125 portrait The volume shot — pails before processing Full bulk bins or a loaded trailer, stacked higher than the frame can hold. Scale is the point: the number only means something if you can see the pile. Shoot low so it towers; person or forklift for reference. Grubby beats tidy.

See What Your Project Would Divert

Put in your dimensions. We'll show you the weight of plastic your build keeps out of landfill — and issue it as a statement you can hand to a client or a council.
